Which situation of carpet transition repair do you need to be repaired?

Luxury Vinyl plank or laminate floors have a matching transition that fits into a track or a grove underneath. Using the wrong style of transition may cause issues down the road. A t-mold transition is often used to cover two hard surface flooring. It’s used fairly often with carpet, however, carpet makes transition rock back and forth to the extent it pulls apart from the track or carpet becomes loose. 

Carpet to hardwood or tile doesn’t need transitions; rather carpet Is simply cut to tuck against the half-inched hard surface which gives a wall to tuck. Edge is vulnerable when carpet isn’t properly stretched and the edge was cut too short. We recommend adding adhesive glue or carpet tacks to the edge.

Metal transitions are the most common way to finish an edge. A tap-down transition is sometimes used more than flat metal due to a cleaner appearance. A common problem for both is carpet pulling away from edge due poor stretch and properly not tucked incorrectly. Usually, if the edge gets delaminated the edges will be difficult to fit back in the edge. Possibly a patch will be needed if the edge of the carpet can’t be pulled close enough to cover it. 

Rubber transitions give a pretty look for lvt products for alternatives. With a track-style transition, the carpet is simply placed under the edge for a rubber insert to be applied on top. Usually great for basements and commercial settings too for heavy foot traffic.
